The Tea Studio recently installed a complete system of solar panels. On a sunny day these panels will generate enough electricity to power all our electrical equipment from the driers and rollers all the way down to the lights. On Sundays when we are not operating the electricity is fed back into the grid.
The environmental impact of the Tea Studio factory was one of the primary concerns for us as we put the project together. One half of the factory runs on electricity now to be powered by sunlight. The other side of the factory uses Liquefied Petroleum Gas burners as a heat source. LPG offers a much cleaner fuel alternative to the coal or oil used in most of the factories of the region.
